Cast of "We Didn’t Mean to Go to Sea" visits Nancy Blackett
For the first time, cast members from Eastern Angles’ production of "We Didn’t Mean to Go to Sea" went aboard the boat that inspired the play and the book from which it was adapted.
Three of the actors, David Ashwood, who plays Roger; Sarah Hunt, Titty, and Laura Stevely, Susan, joined members of the Nancy Blackett Trust for lunch at the Trust’s AGM on Saturday and took the opportunity to see what the boat on which their set is based actually looks like. They were struck by how compact the real Nancy Blackett is, but also by how well designer Rosie Alabaster had captured the essence of the boat.
